Malayalis cannot think of making sambar without tomatoes, do we not? However, the use of tomatoes extends beyond merely enhancing the flavour of curries. Tomatoes are also beneficial for achieving a radiant skin. The accumulation of dirt in skin pores can lead to issues such as the formation of dead skin cells, and tomatoes serve as an effective remedy for this concern. They function as an excellent exfoliator, enriched with numerous enzymes that nourish the skin. Furthermore, tomatoes help to naturally reduce oil production in the skin. They are also effective in getting rid of acne and promoting a smoother skin texture. Let us explore three face packs that use tomatoes to help brighten the skin.
Tomato and honey
Honey, similar to tomatoes, can significantly enhance the condition of the skin. It can help in reducing wrinkles and improving skin colour. Therefore, combining tomato and honey for facial application is an excellent skincare method. To prepare this mixture, blend the juice of a ripe tomato with a tablespoon of honey and a small amount of curd. Apply this mixture to the face and neck, and after 15 minutes, rinse with cold water. You will notice a remarkable difference.
Tomato and oats
Oats and tomatoes serve as significant and effective methods for enhancing skin brightness and eliminating blackheads. If you add a small amount of curd, the benefits are doubled. For this, combine tomato paste, one tablespoon of oatmeal powder, and a small quantity of curd to form a face pack. Apply this mixture to the face and neck, allowing it to remain for 15 minutes before rinsing off. You can apply this two or three times per week.
Tomato and green gram powder
Green gram serves as a natural remedy to brighten our face. The green gram powder has numerous antibacterial properties, allowing it to deeply penetrate the skin and cleanse the skin cells effectively. It addresses various skin issues. By reaching deep into the skin layers, it helps in tightening the cells, thereby helping to prevent sagging and the formation of wrinkles. To prepare a facial pack, mix two tablespoons of tomato paste with a small amount of green gram powder, one teaspoon of curd, and half a teaspoon of honey. Apply this mixture and allow it to remain on the skin for 20 minutes. After it has dried, rinse your face with cold water.
