This is a house that anyone would admire, even though it stands in a small area. It's designed to be simple and easy to maintain. Unnecessary additions like courtyards or patios for aesthetics have been avoided. The owners had a clear vision for the house, which simplified both the planning and execution, says architect Surag.

The house owners Ajith and Athira needed three bedrooms. The interiors had to be fresh, with ample light and ventilation. Above all, the interior design had to be minimal.

All their demands were met through immaculate planning. The house's facade was designed simply. Since the homeowners weren't interested in projections or highlights, a single wall was highlighted using a cement texture finish cladding pattern. The colour combination was also kept simple.

The interior is designed with a Western concept. White and its various combinations are the highlights of this interior. No single part of the interior stands out; everything seems to blend harmoniously.

A green tone was used in the living area to provide a contrast to the white. This continuity can be seen in the flooring and even the staircase. The living, dining, and kitchen areas are combined into a single module. A green and beige theme was adopted for the dining table and chairs. A partition unit separates the dining and kitchen areas.

The open kitchen also incorporates the colour theme. A coffee table counter set has been incorporated as a continuation of the open counter to the dining area. Tiles are used for the countertop and backsplash. Laminates and plywood are used in the interiors. All furniture is customized to suit each space. Even the wall hangings in the interior follow a customized design.

The stairs are located adjacent to the dining area. The space under the stairs is utilized effectively with racks, storage units, and a seating area. The upper living area is designed as a reading space, fulfilling the homeowners' wishes. It features numerous racks and storage units.

The bedroom layout is one on the ground floor and two on the upper floor. All three rooms are decorated in different colour themes. A maximum number of racks are incorporated here as well. Light colours are chosen for the rooms to avoid strain on the eyes. The construction of the house, including both exterior and interior works, was completed for Rs 58 lakh.
