The captivating sight this house in Kanjiramattom, Ernakulam, near Chettikkod Church, stops anyone who passes by. It's a beautiful home nestled in a truly rural setting built on a 13-cent rectangular plot. The design emphasizes the length of the plot, creating a striking elongated elevation.

The clients requested a contemporary-style home, which guided the entire planning process. Their requirements included four bedrooms, a large sit-out, a guest living area, and a combined family living and dining space. The design cleverly utilizes the plot's length to incorporate all these features.

The elevation boasts a colour combination of grey, brick red, and white. The structure is constructed using laterite bricks, taking advantage of the local availability of this material. The courtyard is enhanced with paving stones and a lawn. Contemporary design elements add to its exterior appeal.
The interiors seamlessly continue the contemporary theme. The drawing room features a double-height ceiling. A square section of the ceiling is highlighted with wooden veneer, accentuating the chandelier. The design ensures a stunning view of this area from the stairwell. The staircase itself is simple yet elegant, crafted from solid teak wood with glass and wooden handrails.
There are four bedrooms, split between the ground and upper floors. The family living and dining area are combined into a single unit. A loft space is situated above the family living area. The master bedroom and children's rooms are located on the ground floor.

All rooms are spacious. A prayer unit is thoughtfully placed opposite the main entrance. The furnishing and flooring patterns highlight each space, enhancing its unique character. Matt-finish tiles are used throughout. The dining area stands out with its unique ceiling pattern, flooring, and brick-textured wall near the window.

The family living area is designed simply, featuring a TV unit in white and wood combination. Tufted glass on the front side allows for ample natural light and enhances the view. A section of the wall features ethnic CNC work and niches, adding a distinctive touch.

The master bedroom is located behind the drawing-room. The highlight here is the multi-wood patterned work. Its spaciousness allows for comfortable inclusion of all amenities, including a study table and sitting area. All bedrooms are designed to be spacious and comfortable.

Upstairs, directly above the downstairs family living area, is a family lounge, complete with a TV unit. Large windows offer a beautiful view of the front of the house.

The kitchen is a beautiful blend of white and wood. The countertop is made of Nano White, while the cabinets use marine ply and teak veneer. Every space in this house is meticulously designed to reflect the family's preferences, making it a beloved and comfortable home for everyone.
