Include ginger in your diet everyday to improve immunity

An aromatic spice that is indispensable in Indian kitchens, ginger has many medicinal and herbal values as well. It is often used as a home remedy for stomach aches, vomiting, flu and common cold. The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties in ginger can improve the immunity of the body. Consuming ginger tea or a medicinal ginger concoction on an empty stomach, in the morning, could keep away many diseases and strengthen the immune system.

Special ginger concoction

Ginger could be chewed and ingested or consumed as a concoction by boiling it. To make the special ginger kashayam or concoction, mix two or three pieces of crushed ginger, 2 tbsp coriander seeds, 3 tbsp jaggery and half table spoon pepper corns in 300 ml boiling water. Reduce the liquid to half. Add a pinch of salt as well. The Ayush ministry prescribes to consume half glass of this concoction on an empty stomach. Besides, you could also drink it two or three times in a day.

Ginger tea

Immerse ginger pieces in boiling water for at least 10 minutes. Add some lemon juice. You could add honey if you prefer it sweet. Drinking ginger tea daily would improve the immunity of the body.
