The name Zeenat Aman brings to mind the image of an unapologetic, bold, and irresistibly charming woman, and she has hit movies that have won over generations of Bollywood lovers. The 'Chura Liya' girl has always been admired for her fit body and confidence as well, as much as she was known for her work and image. Even recently, a video from the 70s, in which she boldly says that '90% of the time the women in Bollywood are playing ornamental roles, but today's women are demanding more,' had gone viral. In a recent video, the 73-year-old actress revealed what has been helping her stay fit all these years.
The fitness secret
Apparently, she doesn't follow specific diets but treats food as fuel rather than entertainment. She eats just enough to stay healthy and ensures that her food is always fresh. She reveals it was a fitness tip from her mother. Zeenat, who begins her day with black tea, also pairs up de-skinned almonds to increase metabolism. She has had avocado toast and cheese for the past few years for her breakfast. When in the mood for something traditional, she opts for poha or chilla, a roti made from gram flour and vegetables.
Zeenat says the main meal of her day is lunch, which she includes lentils, vegetables, and chapati. She also adds green gram curry, paneer tikka, and tomato chutney to it at times. Around 5 pm, she snacks on spiced-salted makhanas. She tries to avoid sweets as much as possible but has not avoided them completely.
