Dubai: UAE Deputy Prime Minister, defence minister and Dubai crown prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced that all nurses who have completed 15 years of service under Dubai Health will be given a golden visa. The decision comes in recognition of the incredible contribution of the nursing staff in providing top-notch healthcare services. The directives that coincided with International Nurses Day, observed annually on May 12, emphasise the leadership’s commitment to support and empower the healthcare staff who serve the community.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Hamdan praised the nurses' commitment and dedication towards the patients' well-being. He also stated that Dubai always honours those who diligently serve the community. The nursing community in Dubai mainly comprises Malayali nurses. The latest declaration will surely be a blessing to the nurses. This is not the first time Dubai has provided golden visas for nurses. In November 2021, the government honoured the frontline healthcare workers and their families with golden visas. On October 5, 2024, World Teacher’s Day, the government gave golden visas to the best teachers in Dubai.
