Malayali nurse Prabin Baby, based in Stevenage, UK, recently received a rare honour for her excellence in nursing services. She was invited as a guest to the iconic garden party hosted by the King at Buckingham Palace. Prabin works as a staff nurse at the Leister Hospital under the East and North Hertfordshire National Health Service Trust in Stevenage. She is also the Sargam Stevenage Malayali Association's former member and office bearer. The trust had nominated Prabin’s name to honour her service and dedication to the community.

The royal family, including King Charles, Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, and Sophie, Duchess of Gloucester, were at the party. The other invitees were also noted personalities who have made a mark of excellence in various fields. The royal family has been hosting garden parties since 1860 to honour persons who serve the community with pride and dedication. The event's highlight was spending time with the royal family at the iconic garden in Buckingham Palace. It's just been five years since she arrived in the UK.

Prabin’s dedication to the community and hard work have earned her the praise and trust of her colleagues. Prabin, who hails from Thiruvalla in Kerala, is also known for her excellent coordinating skills and talent. She has also been the coordinator of the patient care department, where she has displayed excellent leadership skills and the ability to encourage and support new recruits. Currently, she works as a patient experience nurse.

She was also one of the main organisers of the Onam celebrations and an elaborate Onasadya (traditional vegetarian feast) at the Leister hospital in Stevenage. Prabin introduced the colourful festival of Onam to her colleagues who are natives of the UK and even encouraged them to try the delicious Onasadya.
