Kochi: 'Be a hero, say no to drugs', a day-long campaign organised by Manorama online, Viswasanthi Foundation and Joy Alukkas Foundation as part of the International Day against Drug Abuse 2025, has got to a flying start with a host of events for schoolchildren. Hundreds of students from Class 8 to 12 have participated in the inter-school competitions held at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Kadavanthra. Actor Mohanlal and top Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officers will interact with the children and their parents at the event.

The campaign kicked off with a basketball competition. A poster-designing competition and quiz were also held parallelly. The winners will receive prizes, including cash awards. Manoramaonline is organising the programme with the NCB and the Regional Sports Centre.

Joy Alukkas and Mohanlal will distribute the prizes to the winners and read the anti-drug oath to the children. Viswasanthi Foundation managing director Major Ravi, NCB Kochi zonal director Venugopal G Kurup, and Regional Sports Centre director SAS Nawas will also address the gathering.
