Enjoying a trip to your favourite destination can be one of the most relaxing activities stressed professionals can undertake. Realising the power of traveling, the police personnel in Kerala's Alappuzha district have been enjoying short leisure trips to relax and focus on their mental health. Various groups comprising of policemen have already visited popular tourist destinations like Munnar, Thekkadi, Vazhachal, Athirappilly, Manali, Kulu and even foreign destinations like Thailand.

Mannacherry SHO and his colleagues enjoyed a Thailand trip while the women officers headed to Kulu and Manali. Armed Police Battalion DGP Rahul R Nair had instructed to reduce work related stress and anxiety. However, his instruction was not taken seriously by the police force in many districts. But, Alappuzha district police chief MP Mohanachandran decided to take it up and adopted various measures that would help the police personnel relax.

As soon as they got permission to go for trips, the police personnel began planning trips in small groups without affecting the routine work at the police stations. The expenses are borne by the individuals. Out of the 33 local stations in the district, the policemen in only a handful of stations are yet to enjoy a leisure trip. Except the police personnel at the Arthunkal Coastal police station and Cherthala traffic station, policemen and women at all the local stations within the Cherthala subdivision have gone for trips. Meanwhile, the police officials at the Mararikulam police station that comes under Alappuzha sub division will be travelling to a destination on October 28 and 29. A group of police women at the Alappuzha women police station is already on a trip. The authorities have instructed that all police personnel should enjoy a leisure trip before the upcoming Sabarimala pilgrimage season.
