Prestigious honour Mrs Kerala India won eludes her due to lockdown

Mrs India Kerala 2018 Sasilekha Nair has been one of the leading women personalities, selected by SAARC Nations International Human Rights Association (SNIHRA) and National Service Scheme cell, Government of Karnataka, to be honoured as part of International Women's Day celebration 2020.

The list was finalised in the first week of March. The felicitation programme was fixed on April 15 but it got postponed due to the lockdown. However, the list has been published officially.

Other selected personalities who figure in the list include, Dr. G Kalpana IAS, (Additional chief secretary, Dept of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka), Major General Elizabeth John, IHQ, MOD (Indian Army), Isha Pant IPS, (Deputy commissioner of police, Command Centre, Bangalore), Manjula Naidu (First Woman Mayor of Bengaluru), Dr Usha Mohan and Dr Shilpa ML.

“I feel really proud to receive this prestigious honour,” Sasilekha told Onmanorama.

Sasilekha, who won Mrs India Kerala 2018 in July and the 'Mrs Most Charming' title at the Mrs Asia International beauty pageant held at Rayong, Thailand in November the same year, is a Bharatanatyam dancer, entrepreneur, and a mother of two.

Based in Bengaluru, Sasilekha is the managing director of IT firm IQ Matrix Infoways Solution at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram.
