New Delhi: The wait to know the dates of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), Main, 2021 is almost over. On Wednesday, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that NTA will hold JEE Main 2021 four times, in February, March, April and May.

"Multiple sessions of JEE Main will ensure that students can sit in the exams despite board exams and fears of COVID-19".

JEE Main 2021 first session will be held from February 23 to 26. Multiple sessions will help students to improve on their mistakes, the minister said.

The all-India engineering entrance test is held for admissions to premier institutes such as the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and a few Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).

On Wednesday, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had released a notification mentioning the dates of JEE Main 2021 and a new exam pattern among other information. However, this circular was later withdrawn.

During a webinar with students on December 10, the education minister had said that the ministry is “positively” reviewing the possibility of conducting JEE Main in multiple sessions.

Earlier, it was reported that the entrance test will be conducted in more regional languages. Apart from English, it is likely that the exam will be held in Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

JEE Main 2021 application form will be available at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
