20 dead in Telangana as truck rams into TGSRTC bus

Telangana: At least 20 people have died and several others have been injured as a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus carrying 70 passengers collided with a truck in Telangana's Rangareddy district on Monday.
The accident occurred around 6.30 am on Monday on the Hyderabad-Bijapur highway near Mirzaguda in Chevella mandal, about 60 km from Hyderabad, when a concrete-laden truck rammed into the bus coming from the opposite direction.
The incident resulted in 20 fatalities, including the drivers of both vehicles. Eighteen passengers of the bus, including a 10-month-old baby and her mother, were among those dead. Eyewitnesses claim that passengers sitting in the first six rows were crushed and buried under the gravel as the entire load fell on the bus after the collision.
Following the accident, the police, with the help of locals, rescued the injured passengers, and they were shifted to the government hospital at Chevella, where three were reported to be in critical condition.
Three JCBs were employed as part of the efforts to pull out the injured.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has expressed grief over the road accident. He directed the officials to reach the accident site and undertake relief measures immediately.
Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar ordered officials to launch relief measures and provide the best possible medical care to the injured.
