Thiruvananthapuram: Launching a frontal attack on BJP, general secretary of SNDP Yogam Vellappally Natesan has alleged that the party was making an attempt to cause a split in the outfit.

“BJP workers are targeting me on social media with the intention of destroying my peace. But the party leaders took no action even after I complained to them,” said Vellappally.

According to the Yogam leader, he did not have to face such a treatment from any other party.

“BJP leaders in Kerala do not even obey the orders of Amit Shah, their president,” Vellappally said during the 'Counter Point' programme hosted by Manorama News on Thursday.

Natesan launched the 'Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS)' in December 2015, with his son Thushar as the supreme leader of the party. The BDJS soon joined hands with the BJP, however, Natesan later openly criticised the BJP.

He had earlier said in Thiruvananthapuram that fund collection and turf war were the characteristics of BJP now. “If this continues, BJP will never come in power in Kerala for a hundred years,” Vellappally said.

He also revealed that his wife as well as daughter-in-law – wife of Thushar Vellappally – will be part of the government's Women’s Wall.

“The BJP and BDJS have different stands on the issue,” said Vellappally.

On Thursday, BDJS president Thushar Vellappally had come out in support of the state government’s women’s wall event. “If the situation is favourable, we will join the wall,” he said.

Thushar also explained that BDJS did not take part in the Ayyappa Jyothi event organised by Sabarimala Karma Samithi as it was not an NDA programme.

The Samiti had organised Ayyappa Jyothi, seeking to protect the customs of Sabarimala, on Wednesday to counter the Women's Wall planned by the state government on January 1.

The government had said the 'Women Wall' would be formed to demonstrate the secular and progressive mindset of the state. The initiative was planned after various right-wing outfits protested the decision to implement the SC order allowing women of all age groups to enter Sabarimala temple.
