Kochi: The Kerala Police have filed a sexual assault case against a popular Malayalam film producer. The case was filed based on a complaint by a 25-year-old Thrissur woman.

The woman alleged that on the pretext of offering a movie offer, the producer asked her to come to a flat at Kathrikadavu, Kochi, and assaulted her.

The case has been registered at Ernakulam North station and the investigation is on, said the police. More information, including details of the accused, were not immediately available.

The Malayalam movie industry has been in a turmoil after a popular actress was assaulted in a moving car in Kochi on February 17, 2017.
