Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala legislator KS Sabarinadhan and his bureaucrat wife Divya S Iyer have been blessed with a baby boy. The Aruvikkara MLA made the announcement to his friends and fans on Facebook along with a photo of the mother and the newborn.

“Both mother and son are fine along with the father,” he posted on Facebook.

The star couple got married in a traditional Hindu ceremony at Kumaraswamy temple, Thakala, near Thiruvananthapuram on June 30, 2017. The power couple are said to share similar interests. The politician-bureaucrat wedding had become a talking point on social media.

Their alliance garnered much attention as a marriage between a politician and an IAS officer did not have much precedence in the state. Sabarinadhan, son of late Congress leader and former assembly speaker G Karthikeyan, is an engineering graduate and MBA degree-holder, and Divya, a medical doctor and IAS officer.

Divya was the sub-collector of Thiruvanathapuram. Now, she is the Deputy Secretary in the Local Self-Government Department.
