Former athlete and Padmini Thomas' husband Selvan passes away

Thiruvananthapuram: John Selvan, former athlete and husband of ex-Indian athlete Padmini Thomas, passed away here on Wednesday.
The 67-year-old fell from the terrace of his daughter's home at Thirumala in the capital. Though he was rushed to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, his life could not be saved.
Selvan, a long distance and cross-country runner, represented Railways. He was also a member of the Indian camp for the 1982 Asian Games.
Padmini Thomas is a former president of the Kerala State Sports Council.
He is survied by his wife, daughter Diana John Selvan and son Dany John Selvan.
