Home quarantine: Returnees to make online health updates on their own

Thiruvananthapuram: People, who have returned to Kerala from abroad or other states, will have to make online health updates on their own during the home quarantine period.

Kerala chief secretary has issued an order in this regard. A final decision will be made during a meet of the various departments that will be chaired by the IT secretary on Friday.

As the number of returnees in home quarantine is increasing, it is not possible for the ward-level committees to gather all the data. And hence the order on daily online reporting.

The healthcare personnel will reach out to those people, who are not able to make online updates on their own. WhatsApp will also be used for data collection. The Sprinklr platform will be used for analysing the data.

How?

* The basic details of those who have registered via NORKA or the Jagratha portal have been included in the government's citizen portal. Therefore, no new registration is needed. After a mobile OTP verification, the health updates can be made. If food or medicines are needed, then that can also be informed through this.

* Those, who have not made prior registrations, will have to give the details only for one-time when they sign in to the citizen portal.

* Respective primary health care centres have been tasked to keep a tab on the details being updated online. The trend in each region will be available on the special dashboard, developed by the Sprinklr.

Seeking citizen's permission

The High Court has mandated that the government should collect citizen’s data only after taking prior permission. Therefore, the government can seek online updates only after the citizens submit a digital consent letter.
