Three of a family burnt to death in Varkala

Thiruvananthapuram: Three members of a family were found burnt to death inside their house at Varkala in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram district.
The deceased have been identified as Sreekumar (60), wife Mini (55) and daughter Ananthalakshmi (26) of Vettoor.
Locals said they heard screams from the house at around 3.30am. Smoke billowing from the house was also noticed. The information was then reported to the police.
According to the police, all three were killed before the firefighters arrived to put out the blaze.
They suspect that Sreekumar committed suicide after setting his wife and daughter on fire in their sleep. Neighbours said the family was struggling with the debt.
