Thiruvananthapuram: Sudheesh Unni, the prime accused in the murder of gangster Sudheesh, 32, at Pothencode here was arrested on Wednesday.

Third accused Muttayi Syamkumar was also nabbed taking the number of accused in custody to 10. The second accused, Ottakam Rajesh is yet to be arrested.

On Tuesday, Arun alias Dummy, 23, Puthenveetil Sachin, 24, Suraj of Vishnu Bhavan, 23, Jishnu alias Katta Unni, and Sreenath alias Nandu were arrested.

The accused were on the run since the December 11 incident at Pothencode, where a local gangster, Sudheesh was hacked to death and his foot chopped off and thrown on the roadside.

South Zone DIG Sanjay Kumar had said that three other accused, Renjith, Nandhish and Nitheesh were arrested earlier. Renjtih is an autodriver, whose vehicle was seen in CCTV visuals from the time of the murder.
