Pathanamthitta: Taking into account the rush of pilgrims to the Sabarimala Temple that reopened Friday for the Makaravilakku Festival, darshan time has been extended until 11 pm.

Earlier, the time for darshan was set to end by 10 pm.

On the first day of reopening, hundreds of pilgrims visited the hill shrine from 4 am when the sanctum sanctorum opened.

The traditional path through Karimala had also opened on the day. The Makaravilakku festival will be celebrated on January 14.
