Manorama Chief Editor's gold medal awarded to K Tony Jose

Kottayam: The Malayala Manorama Chief Editor's gold medal 2021 for excellence in journalism has been awarded to K Tony Jose, the social media editor at the Kottayam unit.

Manorama Chief Editor Mammen Mathew presented the award, comprising a gold medal and Rs 50,000, to Tony Jose. He was chosen for the award considering factors such as ideation at the editorial level, content creation, social media interventions, coordination of special pages during significant events, and the leadership role in various social responsibility projects of Manorama. Tony Jose has also reported on the Lok Sabha elections in various states and the International Conference on Afghanistan that was held in London in 2010.

A native of Palakkad, Tony Jose had bagged the first rank in the post-graduation programme in journalism at the Calicut University. He had also been adjudged the ‘Kalaprathibha’ during the MG University youth festival in 1997. He had also won the state government's award for general reporting.

Seena Tony Jose, the assistant editor of ‘Vanitha’, is his wife. Children: Neelolpal and Madhumitha.
