Kozhikode: The Indian National League (INL), an ally of the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), has split once again.

After the national leadership's suspended the state committee and council, the faction led by Abdul Wahab announced its decision to sever ties.

While AP Abdul Wahab will continue as the President, Naser Koya Thangal will become the General Secretary of the  breakaway faction. Wahab Shaji is the new Treasurer.

Wahab had earlier claimed that he has the support of 75 out of the 125 members in the state committee.

Wahab's faction briefed Kanthapuram Aboobakr Musliyar about the new development.

Meanwhile, the opposing faction has decided to summon the adhoc committee formed under Kerala Minister Ahammad Devarkovil to decide on the membership distribution process.

The rift between the two factions began when Abdul Wahab ousted general secretary Qasim Irikkur from his post last July.

The internal disputes in INL have been brewing for long, with the Wahab faction accusing Devarkovil and Irikkur of taking decisions without consulting other office-bearers.
