Malappuram: In a tragic incident, a three-year-old boy died after accidentally consuming rat poison while playing with a discarded tube of the toxin.
Rasin Sha, the only son of Chettipadi natives Suhaila and Ansar, died at a private hospital on Tuesday.
The child is believed to have inadvertently picked up the tube, that had been thrown away by the family after use, and played with it. The incident happened three days ago.
Rasin, who was under treatment first at a hospital in Kottakkal and then at Kozhikode, died in the early hours of Tuesday.
