Thrissur: The police, on Friday, revealed the motive behind the shocking murder of Rincy Nazar, a 30-year-old woman entrepreneur who was killed while she was riding a scooter along her two young children.
According to officers, her former employee Riyaz (25) had attacked Rincy as she had sacked him for interfering in her family affairs.
Even though Riyaz later approached Rincy several times seeking that he be reinstated, she refused. Riyaz developed animosity towards Rincy after these developments and decided to do away with her, said the police.
Rincy was riding a scooter with her two children aged four and eleven years around 7.30 pm on Thursday when Riyaz followed her on a bike. He soon overtook the scooter and knocked Rincy down from her vehicle. Riyaz then took out a machete and hacked Rincy several times on her face and hands, according to the police.
The loud cries of Rincy's children attracted the attention of some 'madrassa' teachers, who rushed Rincy to hospital. However, she succumbed to her injuries on Friday.
