Kovalam: Two sisters, who met with an accident while crossing a road near the Bhadarakali temple on Thiruvallom Vazhamattom bypass, passed away on Saturday.

Aishwarya (32) and Sharimol (31) met with an accident soon after learning that Aishwarya's husband Sreeji committed suicide. They had reached the bypass to board a bus to Nedumangad area where he stayed.

A car en route to Thiruvallom from Kovalam hit the two sisters and sent them flying across the road. They were immediately transferred to the Medical College Hospital here by locals and highway police.

 While Aishwarya died en route to the hospital, Sharimol passed away at the hospital.
