Hotel employee who raped and killed pregnant goat in Kasaragod had no accomplices: Police

Senthil

Kanhangad (Kasaragod): In the latest development on the rape and killing of a pregnant goat at Kanhangad in Kasaragod, the Hosdurg Police have ruled out the possibility of more than one accused.

Pudukottai-native Senthil (37), an employee of Elite Hotel in Kottachery, who was apprehended on the scene had claimed that two others were involved in the crime and that they were absconding.

However, on further investigation, the police have learned that Senthil had committed the crime alone. He had taken up a job at the hotel three months ago.

The goat that was four months pregnant had been tied to a shed behind the hotel. Due to the general strike, the hotel had been closed for two days.

One of the employees saw someone jumping the fence of the property at midnight and alerted the hotel manager, who informed the owner.

Upon inspecting the premises, they found Senthil in a shed and the goat lying dead near him.

The goat belonged to the owner of the hotel. The postmortem confirmed that the goat had been raped.

Senthil has been booked under IPC Section 377 (unnatural offences) and Sections 428 and 429 (crimes against animals).
