The High Court of Kerala has ordered a probe into the phone calls of a petitioner in a POCSO case on suspicion that he filed a false complaint to trap his wife's lover.

As per the case registered with the Cheranellur Police, the accused molested a seven-year-old boy. The parents are living separately after filing for a divorce on mutual agreement.

However, it is understood that they are yet to decide on the custody of the children. It is in this context that the father of the boy made up the complaint, the woman's counsel has alleged.

While the accused has been remanded based on the complaint, the mother of the child had submitted recordings, before the court, of telephonic conversations she had with her estranged husband.

The husband allegedly told his wife over the phone that he will get a top criminal lawyer and trap them in a POCSO case. "I won't leave him alone. I will end him. You will not get custody of the children," he said in the conversation, as per the recordings submitted by the woman.

It is based on these recordings that the court has ordered the investigating officers to look into the husband's phone calls. The case will be heard next week.
