Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) is likely to drop the restructuring process since the party has entered the crucial phase to hold organisational elections.
The KPCC is of the view that it does not have time for the revamp. The party's State chief K Sudhakaran has convened an online meeting of KPCC and DCC office-bearers at 11 am on Saturday to discuss the membership campaign.
An official announcement regarding the decision to abort the restructuring process is likely in the meeting. The KPCC has discussed the matter with the AICC.
The KPCC has been focusing on the restructuring process over the past three years. The party high command has allowed the State unit to go ahead with the revamp despite notifying the organisational elections.
The AICC, however, intervened after the restructuring process ran into troubled waters and the leaders in Kerala locked horns over the plan.
With the focus shifting to the membership campaign, the revamp process was stalled midway.
