Kerala's Education Minister V Sivankutty ridiculed union minister V Muraleedharan, whose anti-SilverLine house visit earlier in the day had met with resistance from a family that supports the CPM.

Sivankutty has claimed that Muraleedharan, who is the Minister of State for External Affairs "has not been useful for Kerala even for a paper pin".

"If he believes in democracy, he should give up the official vehicle and security provided by the state government and use the facilities of the BJP.

"Hope after the lesson he learned today, Muraleedharan will do just that," said Sivankutty.

The CPM leader was referring to an incident that occurred in the morning at Kazhakoottam in the state capital where the BJP had conducted house visits with a motto, 'SilverLine Naadinu Apath' (SilverLine a danger for the land).

The group of BJP activists led by Muraleedharan had picked the wrong house to start their activity.

As soon as they entered the premises of former CPM councillor LS Kavitha's house, her mother began shouting slogans in support of CPM and chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

The minister's arguments were ignored by the members of the house, who soon left.

Later, after visiting other houses in the neighbourhood, Muraleedharan said that "people are harassed in the name of SilverLine by the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government".
