Woman found dead in Chittur, live-in partner taken into custody

A woman was found dead at her residence at Anjam Mile in Chittur here Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Jyothirmani (45) of Indira Nagar Colony, Moongilmada.
The police suspect that she was strangulated. They have taken into custody a man called Veeraswamy (46), a native of Anamalai, who was allegedly living with Jyothirmani for a year.
A neighbour found Jyothirmani dead inside the house Sunday afternoon and informed the police.
According to locals, Veeraswamy used to torture Jyothirmani and her children frequently. They alleged that he was often drunk.
