In a fresh development into the 2017 actor assault case, the investigating officers have summoned Kavya Madhavan.
The Malayalam actor has been asked to appear for questioning on Monday.
The move comes based on fresh digital evidence submitted by the prosecution before the High Court of Kerala.
The prosecution has submitted three audio recordings, one of which is a telephonic conversation between Dileep's friend Sharath and Sooraj, the husband of actor Dileep's sister. The recording was allegedly retrieved from the mobile phone of Sooraj.
In the conversation that reportedly took place on August 21, 2021, Sooraj is heard saying that it was Kavya who masterminded the assault and not her husband Dileep.
According to him, Kavya was retaliating to some earlier insult and Dileep had only taken the blame.
At present, actor Dileep is facing two charges, one of being the mastermind in the assault case and another for allegedly attempting to murder the investigating officers.
The prosecution has moved the court seeking a three-month extension in the probe.
