Kochi: The Crime Branch team probing the 2017 actor attack case continued to spar with actor Kavya Madhavan over fixing a place for questioning the latter in connection with the case.

Kavya, who is the wife of actor Dileep, an accused in the case, is also a witness in the same case.

Crime Branch has insisted that she should appear at the Aluva Police Club for interrogation. However, Kavya has insisted that she is ready to appear for questioning at the couple's Aluva residence 'Padma Sarovaram'.

Kavya's stand is that since she is a witness, she has the right to choose a place of her convenience for questioning. 

The Crime Branch has not suggested any new places for the interrogation.  Since Kavya has to be questioned along with film director Balachandrakumar, another witness in the case, the inquiry team rules out changing the venue of questioning from the Aluva Police Club.

Though Kavya was asked to appear before the Crime Branch on Monday, she informed that she'll be available for the questioning only on Wednesday.

She wants the questioning to be held at their Aluva residence. It is understood that the Crime Branch has taken a legal opinion on this aspect.

The Crime Branch will soon inform the actor about the final decision on the place of questioning.
