Koorachundu: Koorachundu Kalangali native Olakkunnathu Akhil (28) is arrested on a complaint of physically and mentally assaulting a Russian woman.
The woman met Akhil on Instagram. She was made to stay with him and was continuously assaulted, as per the complaint.
The Russian woman was admitted to the Medical College Hospital last day after she was found to be assaulted in Akhil’s Kalangali house.
The Police said that the woman only speaks Russian and the assault was revealed when her statement was recorded on Friday with the help of a translator.
The woman said she was forced to substance abuse beaten up and assaulted by Akhil.
After meeting on Instagram six months ago, Akhil and the woman visited Qatar and Nepal. The duo reached India a month ago. The woman’s statement also says her passport and iPhone were also destroyed by the accused.
