Thrissur: A woman lost the hearing ability of her left ear after being struck by lightning here on Monday.
Aishwarya, a native of Kalparambu in Thrissur, was breastfeeding her six-month-old child when the lightning struck. The 33-year-old and infant were thrown into the air due to the impact.
Aishwarya's has sustained severe burn injuries on her back and her hair was also singed. The baby did not suffer any injuries.
Damages were also reported from nearby houses after the incident.
