Malappuram: A 74-year-old woman and her daughter, who was a person with disabilities, were found dead at their residence in Tanur on Tuesday. The deceased are Lakshmi Devi, wife of Kaladi Balan, and her daughter Deepti (36).

Lakshmi Devi’s body was found hanging in a room, while Deepti's body was found lying on the bed. Tanur police, along with volunteers from the Taluk Disaster Response Force (TDRF), reached the scene promptly. The police stated that further details would be available following the post-mortem examination. A case of unnatural death has been registered, and the bodies have been moved to Manjeri Medical College Hospital for further procedures.
