In the tragic death of TK Alwin, a 20-year-old who died during a promotional video shoot on Beach Road in Kozhikode, the postmortem report revealed that the youth sustained multiple rib fractures and internal bleeding. The cause of death is attributed to the injury sustained at the back of the head.

Alwin, a Kadameri native who had recently returned from the UAE, was filming promotional reels for 999 Automotive, a private company, when a speeding Mercedes-Benz G-Class, driven by Sabith Rahman of Manjeri, struck him. The shoot also involved a Land Rover Defender, driven by Mohammed Rabees of Edasseri. Both vehicles were reportedly driving at excessive speeds during the incident.

The incident occurred around 7 am when Alwin and his team were shooting near the Vellayil police station. After Alwin was dropped off near the station, the cars moved ahead, turned around, and returned at high speed, resulting in the collision.

Alwin was critically injured and succumbed to his injuries later that day at a private hospital in Kozhikode. The cremation of Alwin will take place on Wednesday evening at his family residence in Kadameri, Vadakara.

The police have registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against Sabith Rahman. He was arrested and charged under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Mohammed Rabees was also taken into custody for his involvement.

The Motor Vehicles Department has filed additional cases against both drivers for car racing, dangerous driving, and using altered registration plates. The vehicle owner has been booked for failing to maintain valid insurance coverage. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
