Thiruvananthapuram: The youth arrested for booing at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has been found to be a person with a mental illness. The 28-year-old advocate, Romeo Rajan, booed at Vijayan upon his arrival at the inauguration of IFFK 2024. According to an officer from the Museum police station, Rajan was undergoing treatment. Therefore, no case was registered against him.

''We have warned him and sent him home on Friday night itself with his family,'' an officer told Onmanorama. The man held an older IFFK pass and was known to attend the event regularly.

TV visuals showed him booing as the Chief Minister exited his vehicle and headed towards the venue. The police promptly detained him and escorted him away from the scene.
