Thrissur: An elderly woman and her son were found dead inside their house at Erinjery Angadi here on Tuesday. The deceased are Praveen (48) and his mother, Merina (78), of the Pallan family.

The incident came to light when neighbours noticed a foul smell emanating from the house and launched a search. Upon discovering the bodies, they immediately informed the Thrissur East Police.

The police found that all the house doors were locked from inside. The two bodies were spotted on the bed inside the room. As the doors were locked from within, preliminary findings suggest that it might be a case of suicide. The deceased were the only residents of the house. 

Praveen’s brother resides abroad, while his sister lives elsewhere in Thrissur. Police suspect that the bodies might be over a week old. However, the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after the post-mortem examination, police said.
