Thrissur: The Thrissur Town East Police have booked two minors in connection with the death of a 30-year-old at the Thekkinkadu Maidan late Tuesday. The deceased, Livin, from Edakkalathur, Paliyam Road, was stabbed to death near the eastern gopuram of Vadakkumnathan Temple.

Around 8.20 pm, Livin had questioned the two minors smoking ganja in public in an intoxicated state. Following a heated argument that lasted for 30 minutes, one of the 14-year-old accused stabbed the victim in his chest. Although Livin was rushed to the district hospital, he could not be saved.

Complaints were previously filed against the minor boys for misconduct, but they escaped legal consequences due to their age, police said.

The 14-year-old accused was expelled from Villadam School in Thrissur for threatening a classmate with a knife, police added. The police have also identified that his father was killed two years ago in a gang attack in Paravattani.
