Thiruvananthapuram: A tourist bus carrying 49 people overturned on the Kanyakulangara-Nedumangad road on Friday night. One person died in the accident, and several others were injured. The deceased was identified as Dasini, 61, a resident of Kavalloor. 

The bus was headed to Munnar. The passengers are residents of Kavalloor and Keezharoor in Aryamcode panchayat. The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle. Residents and Fire and Rescue Services shifted the injured to hospital. Fire force units from Nedumangadu and Chenkalchoola were involved in rescue operations.

The injured were shifted to Nedumangad Hospital and the Medical College Hospital. The injured also included seven children who were shifted to SAT hospital.
