Thiruvananthapuram: Reacting to a viral video of a little boy, Veena George, Minister for Health, Women and Child Development, promised action to revise the food menu at Anganwadis across Kerala. In the viral video, Devikulam native Riju S Sundar nicknamed Sanku was demanding biriyani and chicken fry instead of upma at Anganwadi. When the video went viral, Minister Veena George took to her Facebook page and assured action to revise the food menu at Anganwadis.

"The government will look into revising the food menu to consider Sanku’s demand," said minister in the video posted on her Facebook page.

Sanku is attending Anganwadi No.1 at Devikulam panchayat in Idukki. His cute video was widely circulated on social media pages a few days back. The health minister who watched the video decided to consider the boy’s innocent demand. With the minister’s intervention, Sanku became a viral star on social media and news channels. Apart from upma, egg and milk are also distributed to children in all anganwadis. As per the official records, 3,3115 anganwadis are functioning under the state's Department of Women and Child Development.
