Kollam: A telephone pole was found placed across a railway track in Nedumpaikkulam, near Ezhukone, in the early hours of Saturday, raising suspicions of a sabotage attempt.

An unidentified person walking along the track noticed the obstruction around 2 am and alerted a gatekeeper at the nearby railway station, who immediately informed the Ezhukone police.

A police team led by the Sub-Inspector reached the scene, removed the pole, and notified the railway police. Shortly after, the authorities again found a part of the pole placed on the track.

The Kundara police, under whose jurisdiction the location falls, then arrived and conducted a search operation. Further investigation is underway. Onmanorama has sought a response from Indian Railways and is awaiting a reply.
