Minister Sivankutty hosts Afghan students in Kerala school at Rose House

Thiruvananthapuram: Education Minister V Sivankutty hosted an Afghan family, including their five children, for breakfast at his official residence, Rose House, on Sunday. The minister had met the children during a recent visit to the Government High School in Sreekaryam, where they study.
During his interaction at the school, the minister was particularly impressed by Class 6 student Marwa and her siblings, Ahammed Musammil and Class 3 student Ahmed Mansoor. He extended a personal invitation for them to visit his residence. Acting on this invitation, the children, accompanied by their parents, Shafeeq Raheemi and Sargona, along with their younger siblings, Ahmad Maheen and Mahnas, visited Rose House on Sunday morning.
The family was warmly welcomed by the minister and his wife, R Parvathy Devi. The children spoke about their school life and shared their happiness with the facilities available, such as the lift and air conditioning. They spent the morning enjoying breakfast and friendly conversation with the minister and his wife before returning home.
Shafeeq Raheemi, the children's father, is currently a research scholar in the Economics Department at the University of Kerala.
