Thiruvananthapuram: The distribution of welfare pensions for July will begin on Friday, said Finance Minister K N Balagopal. A total of ₹831 crore has been sanctioned for disbursing the pensions.
Each of the 62 lakh beneficiaries will receive ₹1,600. Of these, over 26 lakh will have the amount credited directly to their bank accounts, while the rest will receive the pension through cooperative banks, which will deliver it to their homes.
For 8.46 lakh beneficiaries under the National Pension Scheme, the central government is responsible for the central share. To avoid delays, the state has advanced ₹24.31 crore, which will be disbursed through the Centre’s Public Financial Management System (PFMS).
