Kerala's new government faces confusion over social welfare promises, including pension increases and a new health insurance scheme. Chief Minister V D Satheesan provided few definitive answers in the assembly.

A monthly pension of ₹2000 is distributed to over 62 lakh beneficiaries.
This rate applies to registration and related services.
All beneficiaries will receive the amount on the same date as per the schedule, said minister Balagopal.
In the agriculture sector, the Chief Minister announced that the support price for rubber will be increased from ₹180 to ₹200 per kg from November 1.
Distribution begins on Saturday, with 26.62 lakh beneficiaries receiving funds directly in their bank accounts
