Thalassery: Four members of a robbers’ gang that committed robbery at various spots in Thalassery Town have been arrested. Wayanad Meenangadi native Ribshad (25), Kozhikode Koodaranji native Binoy (42), AP Mujeeb (38) who hails from Kunnamangalam Peringalam and P Jyoshith (34) of Karaparambu were nabbed by the police from different places. 

Attempt to robbery was reported on July 5 at the house of Dr. TM Prasanna Bai. Although no valuables were lost, the house owner suffered losses as the robbers had broken open the safes and rummaged through the rooms. Two persons were identified from the CCTV visuals. Besides, the registration number of their scooter too was visible in the visuals. However, further investigation revealed it to be a fake number plate. 

Meanwhile, a mobile phone and Rs 9000 were stolen from Hitech Studio in Narangappuram on the night of July 26 and the offering box of Thiruvangad temple was found broke open and money lost. The police team investigating these cases found the stolen phone from Kozhikode, which then led to the arrest of the robbers. 

Police stated that Jyoshith is accused in more than 30 cases registered at various places across Kerala while Binoy is accused in more than 50 cases. The duo met each other in jail and made plans to commit robberies outside. The police team acted as per the instructions of ASP PB Kiran and nabbed the gang within a few days.
