Edappal: On August 10, Fathimath Sajida turned heads with an unforgettable arrival at her university exam hall by dressing in full bridal attire. The unusual sight unfolded at Vallathol Vedyapeedam in Edappal, where the bride-to-be calmly wrote her paper just before making her grand entry into the wedding venue, drawing keen interest from her teachers and friends.
The wedding of Fathimath Sajida, daughter of Abdul Majeed and Haseena of Portyakanakathu House near the Ponnani Lighthouse, and Irfad, son of Moitheen Kutty and Sabira of Kathiranakathu House near the Ponnani Civil Station, was scheduled for August 10 at the Bavas Auditorium in Ponnani.
When the wedding date was finalised, Sajida had no exam scheduled for that day. However, a university rescheduling placed the BA Malayalam examination on Kerala Culture squarely on the same date, forcing her to choose between an important academic milestone and her wedding ceremony.
Sajida was determined to write the exam no matter what, and informed the groom’s family of her decision. With their full support, she arrived at the examination hall at 10 am in her wedding attire, completed the paper, and then headed straight to the wedding auditorium in Ponnani to tie the knot.
