Palakkad: Malayalam actor Biju Kuttan was injured after the car in which he was travelling rammed into a container truck at Vadakkumuri in Kannadi here on Friday. The actor was on his way to cast his vote in the elections to the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA).

While Biju Kuttan sustained minor injuries to his hand, his driver is in critical condition. Both were rushed to a private hospital in Palakkad.

The accident occurred around 6 am. Reports suggest that the actor, who had been in Coimbatore, was returning to Kochi for the AMMA elections.

According to preliminary information, the car collided with a truck parked by the roadside after the driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel. As the actor’s injuries were not serious, he proceeded to Kochi after being discharged from the hospital.
