Cherppu: A stray dog created panic here after attacking a nurse and a 15-year-old boy inside the casualty wing of the Family Health Centre, and biting an elderly woman nearby.

The first victim, Koottaala Niramala (75), was sitting on the verandah of her house when the dog bit her on the hand around 7 PM on Wednesday. Later, around 9.30 PM , the same dog ran into the casualty section of the hospital and bit 15-year-old Christy of Anthikkadan Veetil, who had come for treatment.

Forty-year-old Siya, a nurse standing beside the boy, also sustained a scratch on her leg from the dog.. Both were rushed to the district hospital in a jeep, where they were given injections. Niramala sustained a fracture in her left hand from the attack, and relatives said she would require surgery.
