Idukki: One person was killed and another is seriously injured after a car collided with a KSRTC bus at Periyon Kavala here on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Santhosh (46). 

The accident occurred around 4.45 pm on the Kattappana–Kuttikanam road. According to reports, the car rammed into the rear of a KSRTC bus heading towards Thiruvananthapuram and then crashed into a roadside stone wall. 

Santhosh, who was seated in the front passenger seat of the car, sustained serious injuries. Though locals rushed the injured to Peermade Taluk Hospital, he could not be saved.

Other passengers in the car, hailing from Kalthotty, also sustained injuries, with one person reported to be in critical condition.
